Professional Associations

There are plenty of archaeological associations available to archaeology students and CRM professionals, many of which are state or field/focus specific. In Texas, we have the Council of Texas Archaeologists (CTA) and the Texas Archaeological Society (TAS). Within TAS, there are regional societies, like the North Texas Archaeological Society (NTAS) and the Hill Country Archaeological Association (HCAA). There are currently 11 regions within Texas, and they all have at least one association or organization (Texas Archeological Society – TAS Regional Information (txarch.org).
